Oil tank anticorrosive coating styles are diverse, roughly divided into two categories of conventional anticorrosive coatings and heavy-duty anticorrosive coatings. These two kinds of coatings have their own characteristics, so how can we choose the suitable anti-corrosion coating for oil storage tank?
1. The nature of the environment should consider the use conditions of the structure and the consistency of the scope of the selected coating, and choose according to the conditions of the corrosive medium, the gas phase or liquid phase, the hot and humid area or the dry area. For acidic media, phenolic resin paint with better acid resistance can be used, while for alkaline media, epoxy resin paint with better alkali resistance should be used.
2, the feasibility of construction to consider the possibility of construction conditions. Some should be brushed, some should be sprayed, some natural drying film and so on. For the general situation, should use dry, easy to spray cold solid paint.
3. Considering the matching performance, since most coatings are made of organic colloidal substances as the base material, after each layer of coating forms a film, it is inevitable that there are many extremely small pores, and the corrosive medium may still penetrate into the corroded steel. Therefore, the current construction of the coating is not a single layer, but a multi-layer coating, the purpose is to reduce the micro-hole to a low limit. There should be good adaptability between primer and topcoat. Such as vinyl chloride paint and phosphating primer or iron red alkyd primer supporting the use of, in order to get a good effect, and can not be used with oily primer. Because the perchloroethylene paint contains strong solvent, will damage the primer film.
Oil tank anticorrosive coating primer, intermediate paint and top coat must be matched. The selection of anticorrosive coatings for oil storage tanks shall be fully prepared. In addition to complying with the requirements of the primer specification, the general primer, intermediate paint, topcoat matching combination requirements, etc., to maximize the method characteristics of anticorrosive coatings for oil storage tanks.
